Octopus! Are You Squidding Us? Don’t Be a Sucker for Musk.

Octopus Energy promotes leasing Tesla vehicles (the Model 3 and Model Y), and offers solar installs using their Powerwall batteries. If you’d prefer your green energy company not to help Elon Musk fund Donald Trump’s global heating campaign, you should email their CEO.

For existing Octopus Energy customers

Dear Greg,

I am an Octopus Energy customer and am horrified to learn that you
have partnered with Tesla to lease their Model Y and Model 3 cars, as
well as promoting their Powerwall batteries for solar install.
Supporting Tesla means funding Elon Musk, the company’s largest
shareholder. That means you’re helping him support Donald Trump,
Tommy Robinson and Germany’s AfD, all of whom are climate deniers
and fossil fuel addicts. Donald Trump’s “drill baby drill” policies, which
your Tesla products support, are massively harmful to the planet. As a
green energy company, you should have no part in this.

I must ask you to reconsider your relationship with Tesla and make a
clear public statement about what it will be going forward. If you
continue to work with Tesla, I’ll move to a different supplier. I’m
currently considering Ecotricity, which does not support Tesla or Elon
Musk.
